We are writing to invite you to have a Flu vaccination to protect you against Flu this Autumn/Winter. It is recommended that all people over the age of 65 and/or are in an ‘at risk group’ are vaccinated against flu. You may also be entitled to a covid vaccination, if this is the case, your nurse will discuss this with you during your appointment.
Based on evidence that the flu vaccine’s effectiveness can wane over time, JCVI have advised the optimal time to vaccinate most adults against flu is October. It is preferable to vaccinate individuals close to the time when the flu is most likely to circulate (Which typically peaks in December or January) as this will provide optimal protection during the highest period.
With the above in mind and to coincide with our delivery of the Flu vaccine we will be holding clinics across the sites in the month of October.
